Overview

From resin to finished bottle — every property that matters

PET preform and bottle quality is driven by resin IV, drying, moisture, density, wall thickness distribution and impact strength. A drop in any one of these shows up as haze, poor top load, cracked bases or stress-cracked bottles in service.

International Equipments supplies the complete instrumentation for a PET line — from checking incoming resin moisture and density before drying, through preform dimensional and thermal checks, to finished-bottle top-load and drop-impact testing. Everything is manufactured in Mumbai to ASTM and ISO standards, CE marked and supplied with a calibration certificate.

Standards

Standards covered

PET tests generally follow ASTM D792 / ISO 1183 (density), ASTM D638 / ISO 527 (tensile), ASTM D6988 (wall thickness), ASTM D5423 / D618 (conditioning) and ASTM D5630 (ash). Additional in-house methods cover moisture (loss-on-drying) and opacity. Every International Equipments instrument is calibrated and supplied with a traceable certificate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why is PET resin moisture so critical?
PET is highly hygroscopic; even small amounts of moisture in the resin cause chain scission at injection, dropping intrinsic viscosity (IV) and producing hazy, weak bottles. Moisture must be verified before drying and after.
Do you supply an IV tester?
IV requires a specialised solvent-viscosity setup we don't currently make; our range covers every other PET QC test — density, moisture, wall thickness, tensile, opacity, top-load, ashing and conditioning.
What tests are needed for BIS / export certification?
Density (ASTM D792 / ISO 1183), tensile (ASTM D638 / ISO 527), heat-ageing (ASTM D5423) and ash content (ASTM D5630) are the core methods; the specific certification body will confirm the required list.
Do you export a complete PET lab to one country?
Yes — we routinely ship complete PET testing labs to 60+ countries with CE marking, voltage configured for the destination, calibration certificates and installation support.
