Bottle Cap & Closure Testing

A complete instrumentation set for bottle-cap and closure moulders — MFI, ESCR, tensile, impact, density and ash — to prove long-term reliability and sealing performance.

Application
HDPE, PP & PET closures
Key tests
MFI · ESCR · Tensile · Ash

ASTM D1238, D1693, D638
Made in
India — exported worldwide
Overview

Caps are simple parts — until they crack in the field

Bottle caps and closures live under stress: they must seal, be torqued on and off, resist environmental cracking with the packaged product, and survive years of storage. Failures — cracks, splits, sealing loss — usually trace back to resin properties, not moulding.

This solution combines flow, mechanical and durability testing so cap moulders can verify incoming resin, batch-to-batch consistency and finished-cap performance. Every instrument is built in Mumbai to ASTM and ISO methods and CE marked for export.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the most important test for HDPE caps?
ESCR — Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (ASTM D1693). It predicts long-term cracking in service, which is the number-one field failure mode for HDPE caps in contact with contents.
Why does MFI matter for cap moulders?
MFI drives fill, weld-line strength and cycle time. Even small MFI drift between resin batches shows up as short shots, warping or reject rate spikes on high-cavitation moulds.
Do I need a separate density test if I already run MFI?
Yes — MFI and density measure different things. Density flags filler and regrind changes that MFI can miss; both are recommended for incoming-resin QC.
Can this lab set up cover PP as well as HDPE caps?
Yes — the same instruments cover PP, HDPE, LDPE and PET closures; only the test conditions (temperature/load) change per material.
