A falling dart impact tester measures the impact resistance of plastic film and thin sheet by dropping a hemispherical dart of known weight from a fixed height onto a clamped film specimen. Using the staircase method, the dart weight is increased or decreased depending on whether the previous specimen failed, until the weight that causes 50% of specimens to fail is determined. This 'impact failure weight' characterises the film's toughness.
Dart impact testing to ASTM D1709 and ISO 7765 is a standard quality-control test for blown and cast film producers, agricultural film makers, and flexible-packaging converters. It quickly detects changes in film toughness caused by resin grade, processing conditions or the addition of recyclate, and is often specified by film buyers as an acceptance criterion.
Consider whether you need Method A (26-inch drop) or Method B (60-inch drop), the range of dart weights supplied, and the pneumatic clamping system that holds the film flat and repeatably. International Equipments supplies dart impact testers with the dart sets and clamping arrangements required by ASTM D1709 Methods A and B.
Kenya's rapidly growing plastics industry and expanding water infrastructure create strong demand for HDPE water-pipe testing, agro-film and packaging quality control compliant with KS/EAS and ISO standards. International Equipments exports pipe-testing panels, carbon-black systems, MFI testers and the wider polymer range to Kenyan laboratories, meeting ISO 4427 and ASTM D1238, with full export documentation and reliable freight from Mumbai to East Africa.
International Equipments has been exporting testing instruments from its Mumbai facility since 1971 and understands the documentation and logistics involved in delivering to Republic of Kenya. Each Dart Impact Tester is CE marked, configured for your regional power supply, and shipped with a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, CE declaration of conformity and a traceable calibration certificate. We work with established freight forwarders for safe sea and air delivery, and provide user manuals, video-based training and remote technical support so your team can commission the Dart Impact Tester confidently even without an on-site visit.
