A Melt Flow Index Tester measures how easily a molten thermoplastic flows through a standard die under a fixed temperature and load. The polymer granules are charged into a heated barrel, preheated, and then extruded through a precision orifice by a piston carrying a calibrated weight. In Method A the extrudate is cut at fixed time intervals and weighed to give the Melt Flow Rate (MFR) in grams per 10 minutes; in Method B a displacement sensor tracks piston travel to compute Melt Volume Rate (MVR) and melt density. International Equipments' MFI testers hold temperature from ambient to 400 ยฐC with ยฑ0.1 ยฐC accuracy using an auto-tuned PID controller.
The MFI value is one of the single most important quality-control parameters in the entire plastics industry. Compounders use it to confirm batch-to-batch consistency, converters use it to verify that incoming raw material matches specification before it enters an injection-moulding or extrusion line, and recyclers use it to grade regrind and recyclate. Film manufacturers testing LDPE and LLDPE, pipe extruders working with HDPE, and masterbatch producers all depend on melt flow index data to identify polymer grades and detect the effect of additives or degradation.
The right MFI tester depends on your throughput and the polymers you handle. For a small quality-control laboratory an economical manual (Method A) tester is sufficient; for continuous production QC an auto-cut model with motorised cutting and a prelogic program saves operator time; and for R&D across a wide MFI range, a fully computerized Method A & B instrument measures MFR, MVR and melt density together with automatic storage and statistical analysis. Hard chrome-plated test loads of 1.2, 2.16, 3.8, 5, 10 and 21.6 kg cover HDPE, LDPE, PP, PVC, PET, ABS, PC and Nylon.
Bangalore is India's technology and advanced-manufacturing capital, and its industrial zones at Peenya, Bommasandra and Electronic City host a distinctive mix of aerospace composites, automotive plastics, electronic-component moulding, medical-device manufacturing and polymer R&D laboratories. These high-value industries demand precise, well-calibrated testing instruments capable of characterising engineering plastics and composites to tight tolerances. International Equipments supports Bangalore's laboratories with Universal Testing Machines, impact testers, HDT/VSP apparatus and the full polymer-testing range, backed by calibration and technical support.
As a direct manufacturer rather than a reseller, International Equipments offers customers in Bangalore a distinct advantage: you deal directly with the company that designs and builds the Melt Flow Index Tester, so pricing is competitive, lead times are shorter, and technical questions are answered by the engineers who actually build the instrument. Whether you are setting up a new quality-control laboratory in Peenya, Electronic City, Bommasandra or upgrading existing equipment, our team can recommend the right Melt Flow Index Tester configuration for your materials, standards and throughput, and support it with installation, operator training and periodic calibration.
Bangalore's Peenya and Electronic City industrial zones house aerospace composites, automotive plastics and polymer R&D labs. The demand for Melt Flow Index Tester in Bangalore comes from Aerospace composites, Automotive plastics, Electronic components industries in Peenya, Electronic City, Bommasandra.
